Car show, live entertainment, cash prizes provide a day full of funApple Valley, CA – April 30, 2012: What do adoptable animals, classic cars, a multitude of motorcycles and country music have in common? They will all come together on June 2 for the Third Annual Cruisin’ Fur Critters Poker Run and Car Show.
                Pre-registration is now open for motorcycle road warriors of all makes and models to participate. The event will begin at the Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter at 22131 Powhatan Road for a ride to various destinations from the shelter to Wrightwood and a chance to win $100 for the best poker hand.
                Participants will travel to local, predetermined destinations to collect their playing cards. Upon returning to the shelter, the rider with the best collected hand wins. Post ride activities will include live music by Southern Spirit, motorcycle games, a classic car show, vendors and other activities.
                Registration forms are available on-line at www.AVAnimals.org or in-person at the shelter during regular business hours. Registration is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger. Participants who register by May 11 will receive $5 off registration and a ride shirt. Registration is available on the day of the event from 9 to 10 a.m.
