Apple Valley Freedom Festival fireworks to be simulcast on The Route 103

Apple Valley, CA – June 7, 2012: Thanks to The Route 103, this year's Apple Valley Freedom Festival fireworks show will be as pleasing to the ears as it will be to the eyes. The station has agreed to simulcast the show, which is traditionally the culmination of the largest patriotic celebration in the High Desert on July 4.                This year, the celebration begins at 2 p.m. at the Lenny Brewster Sports Center. Festivities will include the Apple Valley Fire District Jr. Combat Challenge, multiple bounce houses and inflatable games, afternoon water spectacular,  and a wide array of merchandise for sale. The Victor Valley Sunrise Rotary beer garden will complement a variety of food booths featuring funnel cakes, kettle corn, fresh lemonade and barbecue.                This year's headlining performer is Southbound, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, that will take the stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks show at 9 p.m.Lenny Brewster Sports Center is located at 21024 Otoe Road. Take Dale Evans Parkway 1.5 miles north from Highway 18.  The park features 40 acres of grass, a playground and horseshoe pits.  Bring your canopies and chairs, but please, no alcohol, pets or barbecues will be allowed in the park.  Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to help ensure the future of special events that help make Apple Valley a "better way of life."                The 2012 Freedom Festival is sponsored by Burrtec Waste Industries, Desert Community Bank and The Route 103.
