My T-Mobile prepaid cell phone is only used for emergencies and when I am on a trip.
It doesn't have games or GPS and I don't text. Each minute is 10 cents, but I don't use many.

Why so many minutes?

I don't have a monthly fee and T-Mobile carries my account until the next year when the balance is over 1000. I paid $10 a couple months ago for a few minutes to add to my account and T-Mobile will maintain my balance of minutes.

But... Don't forget to buy a few minutes on your annual anniversary or you will loose all your prepaid minutes. SOooo I put it on my calendar and I added an annual reminder in Quicken so I don't forget.
